Whether you're at the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey or a seasoned business leader, we provide 1-on-1 accountability to help you build an impactful company. We have a three-part process that keeps us up to date with your business goals and helps manage your weekly tasks. The three parts are: Gamify, Encourage, and Suggest.
GAMIFY
As an Akwai member, you will be part of the Akwai Hero's League (AHL), a national competition based on task completion. There are 16 teams across 16 cities and each week they face off in head-to-head matches. Entrepreneurs earn points for their team by completing tasks that will move their business forward. This adds a new motivation where your productivity not only benefits your venture, but also helps your team climb the national leaderboards.
ENCOURAGE
Each Akwai member is assigned a Scorekeeper who will send you a weekly email to check-in on your current tasks and convert your completed tasks into points for the AHL matchups. As you complete tasks they will encourage you to come up with new ones so that you develop a rhythm of continuous advancement. The feedback loop that is established with your Scorekeeper is a strategic, and research-backed, method for achieving objectives.
SUGGEST
As we gain a better understanding of your business goals, we will offer ideas and tasks for your consideration. Although not every suggestion may be something you want to pursue, our aim is to prevent you from feeling stuck or burnt out. Some recommendations will be designed to help you relax and enjoy the journey, while others may direct you towards useful information or learning opportunities. If you are facing an obstacle, Scorekeepers and specialists may collaborate to come up with solutions or suggested tasks.

What are the requirements to join Akwai?
There are none. Anyone can join if you currently run a business or plan to in the future. Leaders from all types of businesses and nonprofits are welcome.
Do I need to live in a city with an AHL team?
No. You can be a member of any team, regardless of your geographic location.
How can I earn points for my team’s weekly matchup?
Each task you complete is worth 5 points. Tasks can range from mundane routines to transformative projects. Only three tasks can be registered per week, so we encourage you to highlight tasks you’d like to bring accountability to.
How are tasks tracked?
We use a simple app called Workflowy. You can try it for free at www.workflowy.com
What is a Scorekeeper?
The AHL is a competitive organization that makes goal achievement more fun and social. Scorekeepers are the people who turn your completed tasks into points for the weekly matchup. They stay up to date with your business progress so they can suggest helpful tasks and resources.
What is the difference between a Scorekeeper Check-in and a Strategy Call?
A Scorekeeper Check-in is a weekly email sent by your Scorekeeper. If you've updated your task list in the app (Workflowy), they will tell you how many points you earned. If not, they will ask you what tasks you’d like to register. You can also tell them what new tasks you’d like to work on. Based on what you told them in the previous week, they will suggest task ideas for you to consider.
A Strategy Call is a phone or video call with your Scorekeeper. These calls are completely customizable and tailored to your current situation. Information from the Check-in may also be discussed during this call.
