Part 1: What is Akwai

Akwai is a social network based around goals and accountability. It has a marketplace with thousands of Action Plans that guide you on accomplishing specific objectives. We have Action Plans for any goal you can think of – we even have Action Plans based on books, empirical articles and curriculums. When you choose an Action Plan, the app gives you step-by-step guidance on how to accomplish the goal. It also tracks your progress and pairs you with accountability partners for guided check-ins.

 
 
 
 

Part 2: Venture Labs

The name ‘Cause Ventures’ was changed to ‘Venture Labs’ because [similar to a laboratory] participants will do experiments in order to figure out the best ways to improve their venture. Benefits of participating in a Venture Lab include:

  • Support a nonprofit, small business or startup by participating in the Venture Lab. Expand your horizon by taking on new challenges.

  • Develop and practice new skills/competencies. Use these experiences to pad your resume and advance your career.

  • In addition to working on the Venture Labs objectives, group-members will also use the Akwai app to support each other’s personal goals and aspirations. Click here for a list of Action Plans you can get support on

  • Through this collaborative process you will develop relationships and get to know people’s strengths. We encourage people to use this opportunity to find like-minded individuals they can co-found a separate business with.

Onboarding and Support

When a new member joins Akwai, the Venture Lab Administrative Team will help them participate in a Venture Lab. Here are the roles and functions of the Administrative Team:

  • Operations Coordinator – Chooses which ventures are launched, decides which roles are needed for each venture, chooses which members will staff each role, works with nonprofits/clients to create new venture collaborations.  

  • Administrative Coordinator – Schedules member activities, develops Action Plans for each user and ensures commitments are kept.

  • Progress Strategist – Guides ventures in improving processes, products, services and software through data analysis. Suggests revenue, marketing, team building and partnership ideas.

  • Content Strategist – Creates narrative story arcs for ventures so that interesting vlogs can be created. Suggests shooting schedules, social media marketing campaigns, video postings, content production, podcasts and more.

  • Engagement Specialist – Increases the amount of enjoyment and practical value that users receive from the Akwai app and Venture Labs.

  • Recruitment Specialist – Invites people to join Akwai.

  • Analyst – An analyst is an accountability-coach, data-manager and research-assistant. They focus on combining [a] the data generated by the Akwai app and [b] the Scientific Method to help members accomplish goals. There are multiple types of Akwai Analysts:

    • Individual Analyst – They help members accomplish personal goals and aspirations.

    • Career Analyst – They help members accomplish career-related goals.

    • Skills Analyst – They help members develop hard and soft skills.

    • Mindset Analyst – They help members cultivate their desired mindsets, outlooks, perspectives, reactions and thought patterns. 

    • Wellness Analyst – They help members accomplish goals related to exercise, nutrition and mental wellness.

    • Budget Analyst – They help members stay accountable to budgeting and financial goals. They may have official licensing.

Venture Lab Makes Progress

The Venture Lab Administrative Team (specifically the Operations Coordinator) will assign each member a Venture Lab Role. The roles listed below are the ‘default roles’ - meaning that roles may be added, deleted or modified depending on the needs of the Venture Lab. Most of these roles will be applicable to all Venture Labs. The Administrative Team and individual Lab team-members will collaborate to create custom Action Plans and Boms for each role.

  • Executive Director

  • Administrative Assistant

  • Scheduling Assistant

  • Data Director

  • Innovation Director

  • Content Director

  • Sales and Marketing Manager

  • Systems and Processes Evaluator

  • Engagement Director

  • Show Host / Vlogger

*additional roles will be created based on the needs of the individual Venture Lab

Video and Content Marketing

The Administrative Team and individual Venture Lab team-members will collaborate to produce vlogs, YouTube Shows, podcasts, social media posts and other content. As Akwai and participants share this content it, will encourage others to join Akwai. Click the buttons below to see dozens of content ideas and procedures that have already been prepared.

 

Shares and Referrals

The social media content that is created will feature different Venture Lab team-members. Each person will be asked to share their content within their personal social media ecosystem. Additionally, we have lucrative commission-based incentives and strategies that will cause most users to refer their friends (or at least tag them in the social media content we’ll post).


 

Part 4: Join Admin Team

 

Next Steps

For Phase 1 of this rollout, I am building the Administrative Team. In Phase 2, we will have entrepreneurs audition to have a Venture Lab created for them. In Phase 3, we will begin a social media marketing campaign to build and promote initial Venture Labs.

Benefits

In addition to the benefits you’d get by being part of an individual Venture Lab, here are a few benefits of joining the Administrative Team:

  • We will be able to charge consulting fees once we perfect the process of building Venture Labs around businesses and nonprofits. As an administrator, you’ll have the opportunity be paid for your efforts.

  • You can have a Venture Lab built for whatever endeavors you’re interested in. For example; if you own a restaurant, we could create a Venture Lab focused on building awareness about healthy food options.

Administrative Team Requirements

To join the Administrative Team you’ll need to commit to at least one hour of work each week. This time will be spent:

  • Filling (and developing) one of the roles explained above

  • Using the Akwai app 5 – 7 days a week

  • Having meetings with others on the Administrative Team
